Staycation @ Sofitel Singapore Sentosa
During Christmas 2021, we used our second complimentary Accor Plus night to book Sofitel Singapore Sentosa. (first night used at Fairmont Singapore)
Check-in went smoothly and the lobby was mostly filled with families coming to stay in the resort and unwind as the year ends.
We were assigned a room in the Peace Wing and soaked in the clam relaxing resort atmosphere along the way. The resort compound’s landscape and gardens is inspired by Paris’ Jardin du Luxembourg.
Upon opening the door, we were greeted by this painting at the room foyer for us to take off shoes before entering the main bedroom.
The room was spacious with wardrobe, king bed and study desk. The small details such as the painting, selection of lights and gold leave above the headboard are pleasant touches.
The MYBED pillow menu by Sofitel for guests to customize and achieve the perfect comfort sleep.
At the side of the bedroom was the pantry area which is a quirky cylindrical piece of furniture with a mini bar fridge hidden below.
The bathroom is my favourite part of the room. This is the biggest bathtub we tried to fit in for a staycation in 2021 and we aren’t exactly small sized. Perfect for bathtub and bubble bath lovers.
Bath amenities.
Toilet bowl and shower areas individually separated from the rest of the toilet.
Again a nice little touch, fish hook across the shower door for hanging any pieces of clothing or towel.
The 33-metre swimming pool is massive. There is a deeper side, presumably for guests to do diving training, hence the floats to separate the deep end and the shallow side of the pool. They have lifeguards keeping a close eye on things for those worried about their little ones.
Breakfast was buffet style at Kwee Zeen, where by guests go around the dining area to select their food while being served by hotel staff behind acrylic dividers due to the pandemic. The spread is decent but nothing to shout about. It was pretty packed when we went probably due to year end holidays period.
Final thoughts, we had pleasant stay at Sofitel Singapore Sentosa. Spacious bathtub, huge pool and excellent service from the hotel staff. They have peacocks running around the resort too! The most noticeable drawbacks which make it difficult to recommend Sofitel Singapore Sentosa are the slightly dated deco (also from wear and tear) and the food at Kwee Zeen.
