Staycation @ Fairmont Singapore
As Sofitel Singapore City Centre was converted to a Stay-Home Notices (SHNs) hotel during the dates we made our Accor Plus booking in Nov, we were offered the option of changing our staycation to Fairmont Singapore, which we opt-ed for.
At the time of our stay, the South Tower of the hotel was exclusively used for SHN. Thus, the Fairmont Gold lounge and newer suites located in the South Tower are unavailable for reservations.
During check-in there was also a queue formed from the North Tower lift lobby as guests waiting to go up to their rooms.
As with the new normal, the front desks are fitted with plastic panels between staff and guests to reduce exposure to the virus.
Along the corridors of the rooms they had these mini sculptures and I could not resist to take a couple of pics.
The room we booked was the Fairmont King Room, which is spacious and had a contemporary design. There is a couch next to the bed which was incredibly comfy. I had an incredibly restful night with their firm pillow and mattress.
The rooms at Fairmont also come with a balcony with either a City View facing Bras Basah and Bugis or a Pool View overlooking Marina Bay Sands. Ours was the latter.
Nespresso coffee machine and TWG tea and bottled water a standard feature of hotels like Fairmont Singapore.
The marbled bathroom is well maintained and comes with a rain shower.
Fairmont collaborated with Le Labo for its bathroom amenities featuring Rose 31.
As part of the welcome amenities, Fairmont’s care kit consists of a pack of masks, hand sanitiser and antiseptic wet wipes.
As an Accor Plus member, we are given two welcome drinks as part of the stay which we used at Anti:dote.
Before heading down to Raffles City Shopping Centre for dinner, we had a quick dip in the pool. As per new normal, the pool and gym which are located on level 8 require you to pre-book your preferred timeslot.
A little night snack takeaway from Tiong Bahru Bakery while watching netflix before hitting the bed.
For our Fairmont Singapore Staycation breakfast, we went to Prego as we never tried their breakfast items before. And for the most part (ahem… dim sum), we were so glad that we did!
Final thoughts, we had a fantastic staycation at Fairmont Singaproe. Spacious room, great views, delicious breakfast and excellent service. Coupled with the fact that like the The Capitol Kempinski Hotel Singapore, the location is right smack in town with loads of food options, makes it easy to recommend Fairmont Singapore as an awesome choice for a staycation.
