Staycation @ The Capitol Kempinski Hotel Singapore
Located a stone’s throw from City Hall MRT, The Capitol Kempinski Hotel Singapore has 155 rooms occupying the Capitol Building and Stamford House. The property is located well within reach of malls like Raffles City, Funan, Suntec City, Marina Square and Bugis, extremely convenient for tourists and staycation guests.
The hotel lobby while small in area, feels classy and the check in process, while seated down on, was fuss-free. What made it feel special was the check-in staff would walk you to your room, feels like you are getting an escort VIP treatment or perhaps it is not too easy to navigate the halls on the upper levels if your room is located in a different wing.
I stayed in a Heritage King room in the Capitol wing. The Heritage rooms are 45 square meters and fairly spacious. The room décor consisted mainly neutral white and earthy tones, with large windows that allow natural light in.
The bedsheets were plush, and althought the mattress is not as firm as The Westin Singapore, still provided a good night’s sleep.
Our room came with a small balcony area that overlooked Stamford road. There is a small work/make up desk on one side and the mini bar/fridge refreshments on the other end. Despite being on level 2 beside a busy road, the double glazed windows blocked out almost all external noise.
The bathroom which spans the entire length of the room is extremely spacious. It has separate wet and dry area as you would expect of any luxury hotel and similar to Japan, has a bidet toilet seat which can be warmed up. The walk in shower area is roomy and even has a bench for you to sit as well.
The bathtub is huge and can accommodate two adults nicely. On one side there is also a small television screen built into the wall available for watching as you soak.
Bathroom toiletries are by Tuscan Soul, a Salvatore Ferragamo brand.
The hotel boasts Singapore’s first outdoor saltwater relaxation pool. Unfortunately, during our stay the pool was under maintenance and instead guests were offered the use of the pool at the Eden Residences. It includes a short buggy ride to and fro from the hotel, which can be arrange at the concierge. The pool is small and probably best suited for soaking and viewing the marina bay area.
As per current new normal, hotel facilities (i.e. swimming pool) require guests to book a timeslot.

We booked the afternoon tea at the Lobby Lounge. So after check-out, we headed to Raffles City to walk a little before heading back for tea.
To conclude, I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at The Capitol Kempinski Hotel Singapore. While the hotel lacks a lounge, the serive was phenomenal which made the stay more personalized than other similar luxury hotels. I definitely will be back and absolutely recommend them.
