Warm Up Cafe @ Mackenzie Road
Along a row of shophouses along Mackenzie Road, a short walk from Little India MRT, Warm Up Cafe serves authentic Thai food at affordable prices. While the front of the cafe is modern and insta-worthy with the fancy lighting, it is at the back where you will find a large al fresco area. And with Thai music playing in the background in the back area, it completely exudes the hipster back alley bistros vibes in Bangkok.
We ordered the Crab Omelette Rice which is raved about in several influencer’s reviews and boy were we not disappointed. The egg was creamy, moist and contained generous amounts of carb meat which is a match made in heaven.
We also ordered a Fried Crispy Pork which was a tad dry but otherwise flavourful.
Since my tolerance for spicy is pretty much kindergarten level, I ordered the Pork Collar Bah Mee which is on the sweet side. Probably skip this and go with the boat noodles instead.
A small serving of the Beef Boat Noodle which is one of their star dishes, very authentic Thai flavours.
We finished off with Red Ruby and Mango Sticky Rice which were both on point and hit all the right spots.
If you are into Thai cuisine, Warm Up Cafe won’t disappoint. The food flavours were authentic and the ambience reminiscence of Thailand.
